Responsive Site Redesign:

With mobile usage on the rise, companies throughout every industry are faced with a new challenge: How can they account for users visiting their site across a range of devices and scenarios? I employed a comprehensive process to successfully convert three sprawling, desktop sites to one intuitive, responsive experience.

I used a variety of tools and techniques to identify areas of improvement, organize and streamline information, and bring a new modernized site to life. These included: heuristic evaluation, information architecture creation, prototyping and thorough documentation.

To consolidate three sites serving varied audiences to one site, and ensure relevant content is easily accessible for each audience.

Huge amounts of content are scattered across three individual sites - users have trouble locating information.

Key findings from heuristic evaluation:

  • Complex interaction patterns and dense content increases users' cognitive load
  • Interactions do not meet user expectations
  • Site trust is hurt by dead links and UI bugs

We streamlined the information, allowed users to self-identify to quickly find content relevant to them, and converted one site into an interactive tool.

We consolidated three sites into one site, and reduced site page number from 43 to 13. The new responsive site allows users to access the information on any device. See live site.
